We are sorry to say that Atlanta has turned out to be a nearly entirely negative experience. The past year has been hard on us,emotionally and physically. We miss you all terribly, and if we have been bad at communicating that, it is our poor communication skills, not the feelings, that are lacking. We are, however, glad to say that this means that we are trying to figure out how to come back to Ohio.
Unfortunately, to do so, we have to solve the three basic need of any move: Money to move with and to bridge the gap, a place into which to move, and jobs when we get there. Our lease here is up at the end of July, so we have just under two months to make all of this happen!
We know times are tight for everyone, but every little bit would help us get us, our cats, and things back up to Columbus.
Anything you contribute will go towards moving containers so that we can start packing now, packing supplies, the transport costs of the containers, and the expenses of the realities of the move (for instance, a deposit on a place to live). We decided to not try and drive a truck up, the stress and logistics of packing all in one or two days is too much to handle. We know this is a lot of money, but between the move and the insecurity of moving to a new house/apartment and the possibility of jobs disappearing on us, we have to try to get here before we can realistically move. We don't want to dip into our retirement funds but if it means getting a better start back in Ohio then we will empty them to the dregs!
Because we are in such need and you know us to be experienced at making things, we are offering reward levels. We may not have money, but we do have ability and some materials. I will post them as gift certificates, because that works for legal reasons and keeping track of things. While they are certificates from Red Goat Leather, the goods need not be limited to leather only. We are willing to work with you, as always, to figure out how to fulfill your desires. We have three reward levels, but are always willing to negotiate larger or smaller amounts. $30 for a night of babysitting? (not on them - with them. we promise)
