Al - Bayyinah Orphanage, HAITI

The orphanage houses 40 children who are in dire need of food, clean drinking water, and education.
Twenty six of the children attend school, however, are sent back on a daily basis due to fees going unpaid.
All children reside in one darkened room as there is no electricity connected. Some children even lack clothing and walk around naked and there is absolutely no toy in sight.
The money will go towards securing education for ALL the children for a school year. In addition to, providing safe, clean drinking water for the orphanage.
This orphanage was set up by a young man, after the tragic Earthquake hit Haiti. He saw an increase of children abandoned on the streets, fending for themselves, the youngest only 2 years.
He provided food and company for the children in the hope that family members will come to claim them.
This did not happen; the children had been orphaned, their only home being the streets and only “family” being each other.
The orphanage was set up on his plot of land and he took in 56 children aged between 2-15years. Sixteen of those children were returned to family members after they were located as he did not have the capacity, however, only on assurance that he will provide food for them on a daily basis. At 5am every morning, those 16 children can be found at the door of the orphanage.
