We welcome refugees & YOU can help!
Tax deductible
You’ve read the staggering statistics. You’ve seen the images. And you’ve heard the horrific stories of the refugee crisis of historic proportions. Half of Syria has lost everything, fled the country, and 4.8 million people now live in refugee camps hoping to begin a new life.
You may be struggling to know how to help in a meaningful way and you are not alone.
Interfaith-RISE, (Refugee and Immigrant Services & Empowerment) is a local response to the growing global refugee crisis. We are a 501c3 State Department approved resettlement site in central New Jersey, and it is part of the Reformed Church of Highland Park-Affordable Housing Corporation program. As a multi-faith, multi-congregational, multi-racial concerned citizen coalition, Interfaith-RISE will resettle 50 vetted refugees in 2017, many from Syria, and all fleeing unspeakable horror and tragedy.
We were to receive one Syrian family and two Congolese families in early February 2017, until the President closed the borders, and the future of the refugee program is still uncertain. Meanwhile, refugee families who are already here with us need our help to start a new life, to become independent, and to fully adjust to their new communities.
They need your help.
Refugees arrive with few resources – often just a few suitcases that contain everything they own. Interfaith-RISE provides a warm welcome, and accompanies clients on their resettlement journey towards self-sufficiency. We coordinate housing, furnish homes, and supply culturally appropriate food. We also provide case management and connect families with social services, ESL, and employment training.
Any amount of contribution you are able to make will be immensely valuable and appreciated. Your donation is tax deductible.
