Martha Rodriguez cancer story
Donation protected
My mother in law, Martha, is 50 years old and has recently been diagnosed with cancer. For those of you who know Martha, you know that she is an extraordinary human being. She is cheerful, loving, unbelievably strong and always puts her friends and family before herself.
In early July, Martha went in for her routine colonoscopy and learned she had a large cancerous tumor. Her doctor quickly sent her off to do several CT and MRI scans to rule out cancer in other parts of her body.
While nervously awaiting for her results, Martha began to feel sick. That same week, she was rushed to the ER and had to have emergency surgery to remove her appendix.
Just a few weeks later, she was diagnosed with stage II rectal cancer.
Martha underwent surgery at the begining of September to remove the cancerous mass and was left with a temporary ileostomy bag.
She is currently awaiting biopsy results to see if cancer was found in her lymph nodes and if she will need to start chemotherapy.
Because of this, she has been unable to work. Some of her medical expenses are not covered by insurance and with the everyday necessities of life, money is getting tighter and tighter.
Martha is one of the strongest, most selfless people I have ever known and is always there to give her love and support or "the shirt off her back" to anyone that needs it.
Now, it's time that we send back some of that love and support to Martha. Any donations will be incredibly appreciated. Everything we can do to help and surround her with love is what is most important so she can focus on beating this thing. Please spread the word.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
To anyone else that is battling cancer as Martha is, please stay positive and don't give up. Stay strong you can win this!
