Dexter's Surgery

So this is my first go fund me... I've always been one to contribute, but I never thought that I'd be on here myself needing to raise funds...
A couple of days ago my dog and best friend in the world Dexter was at the dog park with my step father... Just him running around was enough to tear his knee. He's 10 years old, and he's been in agonizing pain for the past 2 days.
He needs a surgery called Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy (TPLO) to repair the damage, stop the pain, and get him walking with all 4 legs again. This surgery is set for tomorrow (12/30/2020) and it will cost $4500 in total.
My dog will be getting the surgery no matter what, because I love him...but we're not paying for the surgery in cash...we're charging it to a credit card. This is a massive amount of debt that will be rough to pay off...especially with the crazy interest rates the credit card company charges.
We as a family are going through financial hardship. The main source of income for three of us is my step-father's job as a pilot...but he's not getting very many hours anymore because COVID has greatly impacted the airline industry.
