Hello, my name is Sequoia Watkins. I am a student athlete at North Carolina State University. This past weekend I competed in the first round of the NCAA National Championship for outdoor track and field in Jacksonville,Florida. I was fortunate enough to be one of three athletes that will repersent the NCSU varsity track and field team at the final round of the  national championship held in Eugene Oregon June 11th - 14th. With only a weeks time between the preliminary and final competition travel arrangements have had to be made with limited notice. With such limited notice travle cost from Raleigh, North Carolina to Oregon is very costly.
Track has been my life since the seventh grade, and it has afforded me the chance to receive a wonderful education and forge a path to future success. For these opportunities i am grateful and owe a tremendous amount of thanks to my number one supporter, my mother. As a single parent, My mother has always found a way for my brother and I to achieve and participate in activities that make us truly happy.even when money was tight she made sure I made it to every track meet and educational camp so that I could be in the position that I am today.  For this I would love the opportunity to show her that I appreciate each and everything that she has done for me and my dreams. In order to do this My goal is to raise at least 1000 dollars so that my number one supporter will be able to make this 3000 mile journey with me. Any amount and support you are able to give will allow me to make this a reality. Thank you.
