Marquise's Miracles

Donation protected
Four years ago, Marquise had an emergency liver transplant due to having D.R.E.S.S syndrome (Drug Reactive Eosinophilia with Systemic Symptoms). He was given three days to live by the liver specialist in Salt Lake City, Utah. Luckily within fifteen hours of being in Utah the doctor told my mom that they had a donor liver ready for him. Fast forward four years later Marquise is now having to get a second liver transplant because the donor liver is failing him. At first the donor liver was doing okay but he was still having a lot of health issues. Its just been the last three years that the donor liver has become more of an issue. Within the last three years Marquise has been hospitalized at least over 150 times, he has had several biopsies done on his liver, he has had fifty ERCPS done, he had plasma pheresis done for a week straight one time and it did not help at all, he has had several stents put into his bile duct and liver. The stents did not help, they only caused more problems and caused him a lot of pain. He actually got pancreatitis from having a stent put in. After two years his liver specialist in Utah transferred his case to a liver specialist in Seattle, Washington. The entire family moved up to Washington to be closer to his liver team. He had more biopsies performed here, more stents put in and more ERCPs done. On March 29th, 2019 my mom had to rush Marquise to Seattle to see his liver team. Because Marquise was really yellow (highlighter yellow for an example), was in a lot of pain, and not feeling well. On that day Marquise was admitted into the University of Washington. There they gave him fluids and antibiotics. They also performed and ERCP which made him feel really nauseous afterwards but they also performed a biopsy on his liver. The results came back that the bile duct was badly damaged as well as the liver. The doctors informed us that Marquise’s bile duct and the donors bile duct were two completely different sizes which caused damage to the bile duct because it had to work extra hard but it also caused damage to the liver. The doctor said Marquise needs a new liver now, so they are performing a lot of test to find an exact match this time. Today on April 12th, 2019 Marquise has been admitted again into the University of Washington. The reason they admitted him today is because his liver numbers are dramatically high and the doctors are afraid that he has developed a life-threatening infection in his liver. They are putting him on fluids with antibiotics and on Monday will possibly put another stent into his liver to keep him alive and going until they get another donor liver. My mom is going to ask that the doctors keep him in the hospital until they find a donor for his health safety. But my mom will need financial help with medical finances and finances that have accumulated because of Marquise being sick there is just not enough money to provide the care he needs.
