Laura Feldman medical expenses

Join Team Moeding in supporting Laura Feldman, her children, and her continuing fight against cancer. 

Laura was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2009. A lump was noticed on her ovary during her 21 week ultrasound when she was pregnant with her youngest son. After giving birth she had a hysterectomy and the cancer was found in her liver and diaphragm. She underwent chemotherapy, and has been on various chemotherapy regimens and courses since her diagnosis. Over the past five years the cancer has been found on her spleen, which was removed, and also attached to her stomach and in her pancreas. Recently she had suffered from abdominal pain and learned that she has cancer in her colon and will begin treatment for this new mets. Laura has also had numerous surgeries in the past five years. Because Laura was only thirty when her ovarian cancer was diagnosed she underwent genetic testing and was found to be a carrier of the BRCA1 gene.

Laura worked as long as she could, but recently was unable to continue working due to her illness. She is a single mother of two boys, Payne age 13 and Cody age 5. Laura is one of the strongest women I know, but this latest emergence of cancer in her colon has been very hard for her to deal with. Laura will be starting a new chemo regime and will have to drive to Sioux Falls weekly for three weeks and then off a week. She is very worried about the added financial burden this will place on her.

Laura is a strong woman with limited family support and help. Her mother is also a carrier of the BRCA1 gene and is fighting her own cancer battle. Laura is very deserving of the honor of being selected as the beneficiary of this year’s Team Moeding event. Thank you for showing Laura Feldman support by donating to her medical expenses!
