Bring Pippin Home

I recently moved back to the U.S.; however, at the last minute, I unexpectedly had to leave behind one of my furbabies. When I checked in with my flight on Air Canada, I found out they had canceled my reservation to fly my dog Pippin in cargo. They said they sent me an email informing me of this, but I never got it. Not only this, but they couldn't fly him in cargo from Toronto to the U.S. due to an embargo in place until October because of high temperatures. This wasn't mentioned to me at all while I was on the phone booking the tickets, even though I made it very clear that I would be flying with two dogs (one in-cabin and one in cargo) in late June to the U.S. The very first thing I asked when I finally got someone on the phone after calling for two weeks was if it would be possible to do this.

Thankfully, my wonderful friends were able to come to pick him up from the airport and keep him until I could make arrangements. I have found a pet courier who will bring him in July. However, it's expensive and something that could have been avoided if I had known earlier that it was impossible to fly Pip in cargo on Air Canada. The total cost is 3.9 million won($3,020).

I wasn't expecting this cost. Otherwise, I would have saved up for it and set the money aside. Now I'm using money initially supposed to go towards getting an apartment and helping me get by until I can find a job. I would wait a bit longer to save up more after finding a job, but my friend in Seoul can't keep Pippin for that long.

Any little bit will help. And I will be raising an official complaint with Air Canada, though I'm not expecting them to do much about it. Thank you so much in advance for your help!
