Support Stroke Recovery

Did you know that 85% of people with stroke have trouble moving their arm and hand? Or that between 100-300 movement repetitions per practice session are needed to cause the neuroplastic changes that underlie brain recovery?

The problem is, it can be boring doing that many reps of normal exercises..!

Here’s where gaming technology devices can help.  With one such device called ‘Pablo’, people play fun games using different input devices, to practice the movements needed to regain function until 100s of reps are done in no time! Because its enjoyable, people stay motivated and engaged to achieve their goals.

At our neurorehab practice in Gosford, NSW, we want to provide Pablo for our patients to use, but we will need support to do this.

Having experienced a pretty nasty stroke, I decided to go to a professional in Physiotherapy who specialises in strokes and found Neurophysiotherapy is the ideal therapy for me.

Since coming to Central Coast Neuro Rehab to have treatment using this new exciting technology called Pablo I have managed to get my licence back so no more relying on friends, cabs and anything to get anywhere. I've got my independence back and my life back with the help of Central Coast Neuro Rehab and the Pablo technology and its just getting better and better all the time.

I tried the Myro, a multi sensory therapy machine and  found it easy to use. I have the ability in one arm, but my coordination is not good, this helps in a big way.

I have been fortunate to have had improvements from day 1. The movement in my leg is so much better now however it is very difficult to stay motivated when it goes on for many years. Using Pablo  I had 95% improvement on a challenge and there are harder exercises to keep the motivation going. Pablo works. I look forward to using this machine especially as it is a fun experience not a chore.
