Fernando's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
In November 2013 the Castellanos family would soon endure in a long battle they never thought they would have to face. In November Fernando Castellanos, a father, husband, and brother in Christ was rushed to the hospital with complaints of not being able to breathe. Fernando took a turn for the worst when the doctors had to tell his family that he had double pneumonia and the H1N1 strain. Fernando was under Intensive Care for over a month. He had to be intubated due to his low oxygen levels, thus falling into a coma during that time. During that time there were several cases of H1N1 strain and several of them ended in fatality.Thankfully, Fernando's life was spared to us. Being abundantly blessed that he lived, other obstacles became evident.

He was moved to a Specialty Care Hospital to attend to his tracheotomy . He was unable to speak for a period of time not being able to communicate to his family and friends other than through pen and paper. He fought hard through therapy to be able to speak. The family rejoiced and tear overflowed when he was able to finally speak. That was a wonderful day amongst the storm they were in the middle of. He was then moved to a Rehab where he hoped to only be for a short while. Unfortunately, we are in day 300 and Fernando continues to need further care.

Fernando, being the sole financial provider for his family faced another struggle; how would his family eat, pay rent, pay for expenses? Forced to leave their home due to the inablility to pay the rent, his wife and son found themelves wondering where they would live. Nothing short of a miracle they were able to move into a small mobile home. However, another day, another week and another month coninues to pass by. The medical bills, shelter bills, transportation bills and worries continue to grow. Fernando is still in recovery and we pray that he can make it home soon. The road to recovery from Hospital to specialty hospital, to Rehabilitation, to future care at home has and will be a long journey. However, his family continues to struggle trying to find ways to make ends meet, living by donations and faith.

PLEASE, LET'S HELP THIS FAMILY. They have always been a family who gave of themselves and their home for whoever needed help. I ask to please consider helping this family in dire need of Fernando's recovery.

ANY donation will help this family. No donation is too small !

Eternally grateful :)
