The Terry Chatreau Fight ...

Donation protected
Terry Chatreau is an awesome mom of 3, a bowler and has CANCER. Where to begin???

Her personal story began on August 22, 1969 when she was born and raised in Cerritos, CA. She grew up with three brothers, Rudy, Michael and Jeffery and three sisters, Debbie, Laura and Dorothy. Her childhood was filled with her first love … BOWLING. She competed as a junior in many tournaments where she met and stayed friends with so many of you. She was always fearless, funny and to the point from a very early age. Terry has always been a go getter, ready to face any obstacle that got in her way. She continues to be that person, fearless, funny, to the point and ready to face any obstacles that gets in her way.

As the years went by she married and has 3 beautiful kids, Peja Taylor, 10 - Teyla Cashmere, 9 -Precious Melody, 6. She is involved in all of their school activities and is slated to be PTA President the next school year. She still competes in bowling many tournaments and leagues with lifelong friends. She cherishes every minute of the time she spends with her children, family and friends.

Her medical story began a little over two years ago when she was diagnosed with Her2+ breast cancer, a very aggressive, fast growing form of breast cancer. After many 6 rounds of chemo, 3 weeks of daily radiation and biolateral mastectomy surgery she was given a clean bill of health … but this was not to last. On April 11, 2014, she was hit with some very troubling news … it was back! In some very vital areas

On April 14, 2014, Terry underwent surgery to remove a half dollar size brain tumor, as well as getting a biopsy of the other large tumor. She was then told she has more than 6 lesions (tumors) surrounding her brain. She was also told that she has 2 other large tumors, one on her left shoulder, the other on her right hip with many other lesions (tumors) on the rest of her bones from the thoracic spine down.

During her second brain surgery the following week they inserted the Ommaya port which allows her to receive brain chemo. She began brain chemo on April 21, 2014 and she will continue to have it weekly which should help shrink the brain tumors.

This is also the day she thought best to return to the bowling alley. :- She bowled 2.5 frames … however, her bowling family convinced her to stop. Her wobbly legs told her the same thing, but her stubborn self, WANTED TO BOWL!

The next step was to have a power port put into her chest which was done on April 23, 2014. This port was for her body chemo that she needs every 3 weeks. Terry had her first body chemo on April 28, 2014. Her outlook has been so positive, after all ... she was alive and able to watch her children grow and THAT is her focus!

Unfortunately, Terry had an adverse reaction to the Benadryl she was infused with. She became weaker each day and unbeknownst to us, she began having seizures and became so weak that she had to be hospitalized. She was admitted to ICU and was there. Her care was phenomenal. They were able to figure out that she was having constant seizures. They adjusted her medicine, waited for her brain to reset itself and sent her on her way:-)

Future treatment is going to be long and grueling on her and her family. We all maintain positive thoughts for a full recovery. Terry, her family and friends ask most of all for prayers. Prayers for strength, courage and to keep God first in every decision made for Terry and the kids. Believe me, she is still very feisty … and still doesn’t have a problem telling YOU like it is! That’s the Terry we all know and love.

Our plea to you is to help Terry and the family get through these very long term treatments. We would love to be able to see her be able to make some life long memories, for and with her kids. They have never had the means to go to or visit most places we all take for granted. To help her extended family, allow Terry to do fun, family outings for/with her kids would be a dream come true for her. For Terry to be able to pay for expenses that might come up along the way. Most of all, for Terry to know that there would be a savings put a way to send her 3 VERY INTELLIGENT, BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN to college someday ... well that would just make life worth fighting for even more!! She will be the first to tell you, she was meant to have these three kids. She loves them with all of her heart and would like nothing more than to be here to watch them have their own families someday. Whatever you can give would be so appreciated.
