Justice Jeremiah Gonzalez, known to family and friends as “JJ”, is an 11-year old boy with a pure passion and respect for the sport of “free-diving”. But he has an even bigger passion for bringing joy and happiness to everyone around him.

Sadly, on the afternoon of July 25th 2020, JJ was in a devastating, life-changing free diving accident known as “Shallow Water Blackout”, which has been affecting his loving parents (Lynnette and George), supportive little sisters (Aniyah, Alyssa, and Elena), and his extended but tight-knit family ever since.

With the quick thinking & performance of CPR of his father George and the lifeguard, JJ was stable enough to await the arrival of the paramedics. JJ was then rushed that afternoon to Advent Health (Florida Hospital), located in Orlando. He was immediately sedated, ventilated and on Life Support, and he has been for the past few days. With the grace of God and many day & night prayers, along with the outstanding medical team, JJ has regained consciousness and opened his eyes yesterday!

Over the last couple days, JJ has been able to breathe on his own and also interacting with his loved ones; smiling and laughing with his Mom & Dad, as if nothing happened. JJ is truly a miracle! He is a strong, resilient, spirited young man who is now tackling the challenge of rebuilding his health.

His family is facing what will be a growing battle of medical expenses on top of cost for countless physical therapy sessions and counseling he will need during the recovery process, which is why we are setting up this fund for them. We can only express thanks to God that Justice is still with us today.

We can’t express how dear Justice is to us, his friends, and his community and we pray that he will come out of this stronger and that we can all help to support his family in a desperate time of need.
