Myleeah's Epilepsy Battle

My name is Sarah Chapman. My sixteen year old daughter, Myleeah was diagnosed with Epilepsy August 2013 in addition to PNES April 2014. Both conditions are exacerbated by Myleeah's sleep apnea, REM Behavioral Sleep Disorder and PTSD. In the last 5 months Myleeah has since been hospitalized twice and had SEVERAL visits to Specialist and to the ER due to injuries. Myleeah is currently on Medical Independent Study. It is so rough watching Myleeah lose her independence and freedom due to epilepsy. To make matters worse she is watching all her peers go through rights of passages that she is being denied (driving, going out without parents, etc.). At this point we cannot leave Myleeah alone, as on many occasions when left alone she has had seizures and injured herself.
I am setting this page up in hopes of raising enough funds to purchase some items that will help Myleeah gain some independence and freedom. Items not covered by insurance such as a anti-suffication pillow, life jacket, SAMi Sleep Monitor, seizure response dog as well as help with unpaid medical bills. I hate asking for help, but affording these items is a stretch!!! Especially lately as I am having to miss a lot of work to care for Myleeah. We know times are tough and appreciate anything you can give. We are most grateful for you all keeping Myleeah in your prayers and sending good thoughts our way.
SEIZURE RESPONSE DOG
We are currently looking into a Seizure RESPONSE dog for Myleeah. We are hoping for a dog that can perform tasks during and following a seizure such as roll Myleeah on her side during a seizure, get help, block Myleeah from hazards during a seizure, during aura or postictal: guide her during disorientation, provide comfort, help her up, etc. All of the organizations we've contacted require we fundraise between $14k-$25k depending on organization.
