In this New Year 2018 please consider helping St. Paul Baptist Community Outreach make a difference in the lives of Somerville youth. St. Paul is fervently working to complete a “home away from home” for low-moderate income youth in the Somerville, NJ area. We are repurposing and renovating an oversize garage to accommodate a meeting space, computer lab and screening area. Due to an unexpected electrical issue we are in need of $10,000.00 to complete the job.
It seems like yesterday that we noticed how so many children flooded the streets to play or just to hang out after school, on the weekends and during the summer. We knew that if they had a positive outlet, they would be doing positive things. A few committed friends and members of St. Paul Baptist Church, began to offer homework help during the week, lunches and trips during the summer. What began as a labor of love for a few children grew into the establishment of the St. Paul Baptist Community Outreach. Now, 4 years later, St. Paul serves approximately 52 children and that number increases annually. An indoor facility is vital to our efforts to provide positive activities for Somerville youth during the cold weather months. Needless to say, we want to insure that these children have a safe place to learn and play.
