Brenna Pfeifer Tuition Fundraiser

A Fundraiser for College Tuition For Brenna Pfeifer

Brenna Pfeifer is a promising future teacher who needs to complete college courses to become a vocal music teacher in the public schools. Since I have observed her work as an instructor of a collegiate music ensemble, I am convinced that she has all of the characteristics that are needed to inspire her future students. She is kind, enthusiastic, empathetic and able to share her passion for music with every student she teaches.  She has a great sense of humor; and, she is able to teach by example. Her vocal music repertoire is diverse, and includes jazz, musical theater, bluegrass and many different types of classical music.  People really enjoy hearing her beautiful voice as she sings solos with the Decatur Municipal Band in our city.  In addition, she sings solos in many other locations across the country, works as a church music director at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, and as a vocal director for many theatrical productions in the area.

At this point in time, Brenna does not have the money to pay for her college tuition this fall.  She is not eligible for any financial aid, and can only access a small amount of student loans; and, following the recent loss of her mother, she has no living parents who can sign for loans or provide money for her tuition.  She has applied for the few college scholarships that are available, but the sums of money from these scholarships will not be enough to cover her tuition during the fall 2017 semester and beyond.

I am sponsoring this fundraiser for Brenna Pfeifer because I know she will be a teacher who will impact the lives of hundreds of future students. I am hoping you will join me in supporting Brenna as she returns to Millikin University to study music education.  I view my contributions to this fundraiser as an investment in the future education of students whose lives will be enhanced by the quality of music instruction that will be provided by Brenna.

On July 15, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 250 N. Decatur St., Decatur, IL., Brenna and her friends, Andrea Pope, EIU voice professor, Lyn Sly Mallard, Millikin University pianist, and Marion Mallard, bass player, will present a free music program for the purpose of receiving free-will donations.  The concert will be livestreamed and posted to Facebook, and the link shared here for you to enjoy and donate to if you cannot attend. These donations will be placed in a Millikin University fund, titled the “Brenna Pfeifer Tuition Fund.” It is this fund that will provide the financial support for Brenna to attend Millikin University this fall.
