Help Zach Go To College!!!

Hello All, We are quite excited that Zachary has been accepted to Shepherd's College in Union Grove, WI. Little did we know when Zachary started and progressed through elementary and high school that he might one day be able to attend college. Colleges specifically for students with cognitive disabilities did not exist until recently. Shepherd's College can teach him necessary living skills while also providing specific job skill training through a 3-year intensive internship in his declared area of study. Shepherd's College has an incredibly high employability rate post-graduation. We know of no local program that can provide what this college can. We are so excited for Zach to have this opportunity. Most parents start saving for their children's college from the moment they enter school. When Zachary started school there were no such programs for us to consider or plan for. Zachary is a very hard worker. He is always willing to take on leadership roles and he has sought connections with the community through various volunteer positions. He has his first paying job this summer and plans to contribute to his college fund from his earnings. He has a strong desire for long term gainful employment and a highly independent living situation. Any help that can be given to Zachary to help him go to college would be well worth it. He can go far!!
