Val Krause is a loving husband, father of five children, and has one grandson. He has been an officer for the St. Louis County Police Department for over 20 years.
Val and his family have faced a long and difficult struggle since he was diagnosed with NAFLD (Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) 15 years ago. His condition reached a critical stage 2 years ago and he was placed on a donor list for a liver transplant. Many complications have come about that will require much more medical attention down the road. After a couple of extremely difficult years of treatment and hospital stays, Val finally received a liver transplant 3 weeks ago. After a successful surgery, and time spent in ICU, he has began recovery at a rehab center. He will soon be able to come home and continue to work toward reaching his full potential once again. Although things have gone well this far, it is only the beginning of a long journey to come.
The Krause family would be extremely grateful for any donations which would allow them to pay medical bills. Donations will also allow Val's wife to take leave from work to spend the necessary time at home with her husband and care for him during this crucial and difficult time.
