As children we dream of becoming our favorite hero or heroine. As adults, we work hard to embrace those heroic qualities to help others. My good friend Shadi Farzin Gohar has done just that. She has worked hard for so many years to become a heroine to children battling cancer. Her dream of becoming a pediatric hematologist-oncologist became a reality only a short time ago, and her work has helped so many precious little ones. Ironically though, in April, Shadi was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Her friends and family are now trying to help Shadi fight the most critical battle of her young life.
Shadi’s treatment includes extensive chemotherapy, a process she has just begun. Her condition has rendered her unable to work and fully care for herself. We have created a family and friends support network and fund to help Shadi with the mounting medical bills, cost of care providers, and daily living expenses. This page was created to help garner support for Shadi and her family during this very difficult time.
