My name is Catherine Overcash and I live in Friendswood, TX.
Hurricane Harvey destroyed many many houses and businesses in Friendswood, TX. I'm thankful my home was spared but my cousin, Kella Vanek and her husband Alex Vanek got over 27" of water inside their home. EVERYTHING was lost. Furniture, appliances, toys, electronics, bedding, clothes, etc. The house must be gutted 4' down to the floor. Family and friends have teamed up and are currently working on getting all the flood water soaked belongings out of the house to be disposed of so that flooring, sheetrock, and insulation can be removed. Flood water contains MANY contaminates, one of them being sewage. Everything that came in contact with flood water must be removed from the home. That leaves them with nothing but a gutted structure.
Kella and Alex have 2 girls, ages 13 yrs and 11 yrs.
If you can give, please do. If everyone can give some, it will add up to enough.
It will be a long process to repair the home and heart.
