Please Help Sam and his family

Sam and Diana Arnold have been friends of ours for the last 20+ years. There was a tragic accident yesterday, while they were on a short vacation to Virginia for Diana's cousin's wedding. They arrived a few days early to take in the sites with their family and enjoy a much needed mini vacation.
While traveling in a group of 4 vehicles, on their way back from a day trip to Washington DC, there was a flat on their rental car. Sam pulled over, as well as the other drivers in their group. Sam’s nephew and Diana's cousin were stopped in front of them, up the breakdown lane some. The men walked back to assist Sam with changing the tire. They realized a car was driving in the breakdown lane at highway speed.( A drunk driver, we have learned- he has been arrested) They tried waving their hands and hollering at the driver, who did not seem to notice them. Diana and her nephew and cousin jumped out of the way and as Sam tried to, he was struck. He has a crushed pelvis a broken leg and a laceration on his head. He is in a lot of pain and is in need of several surgeries to try and repair the damage. He is sedated to keep him comfortable for the moment, until they can do surgery. I have made this page to try and assist with some of the expenses associated with this tragic accident. Namely the family needing to stay in Virginia, at least through his surgeries. They will need to extend their rental car for who knows how long. Meals, hotels and gas are very costly outside of Washington DC. The hospital has said that he will be there for about 2 weeks and then will need to remain in the area for physical therapy. If you have just a few spare dollars, please help this family. They are a normal paycheck to paycheck family, as are most of us. Whatever you are able to spare will help them so much right now. Thank you for reading this and for all the thoughts and prayers.
