Dance Exploration in Israel

I am a mover moved by movement, from dance to yoga and the paths in between. I had the chance to experience Gaga technique while on a visit to NYC, Gaga is the movement vocabulary created by Ohad Naharin that “turns on the volume of listening tour body, by being aware of the connection between effort ant pleasure through multi-dimensional movement”. As soon as my body was exposed to this movement language I understood that I had to immerse myself in this work as an integral part of my growth in dance. My body experienced a new level of awareness that felt numinous, and from that moment on, I longed for those heightened sensations to recur. I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend the Batsheva Dance Company Summer Intensive and the Gaga Intensive summer Course in Tel Aviv, Israel. Batsheva is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, which makes this experience even more thrilling. I truly believe that these courses can help me manifest my potential by dancing in a unique and inspiring environment. However, pursuing my goal of dancing in a professional dance company is tough with finances and I need your generous support and donations to help make this dream a reality. With your support, doors can be opened for my future in dance, which will impact my life forever and feed my soul’s desire.
I once had to answer the powerful question of “What is movement?”, this is what I pondered on:
Movement is the transformative cycle partnering life with devotion. Movement brings me back to the Earth’s roots only to be renewed and revivified into a place beyond the horizon of reality. Movement is the pure form of innocence when it washes the ego and nourishes the spirit like primitive and essential medicine. Movement brings back to life the dead aspects within me that crave an outlet for manifestation and kills that which no longer serves internally. Movement blends consciousness with unconsciousness, skin with bones, surrender with resistance, numbness with vibrancy, and union with separation. Movement controls the soulful letting go.
