Hi, I'm Jo.
As you may know, I'm pretty passionate about protecting the world for our children and grandchildren. So much so that I write DownToEarthMother.com, a blog about green-living tips for busy mums.
I have been offered the opportunity to become a Climate Reality Leader, training with none other than Al Gore in Melbourne in June. It would be my dream come true to attend.
As a Climate Reality Leader, I would be expected to reach out to the community and communicate the facts about climate change. These are called Acts of Leadership and I am obliged to do 10 in the 12 months following my training.
Some of the ways I intend to spread the message about climate change include:
* Via my blog, including a free ebook to my subscribers
* Writing for magazines and newspapers
* Giving talks and presentations to schools and community groups
* Giving interviews on radio and television
I am aiming to raise $2000 to get me to Melbourne in June for the training. Did I mention it's with Al Gore? For a greenie like me, that's the equivalent of meeting Madonna.
Donations from individuals are hugely appreciated – and if I can provide you with a talk or article, do let me know! By helping me become a Climate Reality Leader, know that you are contributing to the ripple effect that will cause our government to take notice of the crisis at hand.
I have also put together some sample sponsorship packages for businesses that care about the planet. Down To Earth Mother is an active blog with a highly engaged readership of around 5000 UVs per month.
