Help Khalil and His Family

At this very moment, Khalil is being detained in a remote jail cell.

Thanks to the fantastic freely donated talent He is away from his loving wife in his role as primary breadwinner, his beautiful daughters who don't understand why he is not there to take them to school, his bewildered and infirm mother for whom Khalil is primary caregiver, his heartbroken and enraged colleagues who depend on his skills and advocacy, master's degree graduation cap and gown await him.

Immigration is trying to deport him to Guyana based on a criminal conviction that is now more than a decade old. Since his time in prison, Khalil has become an essential, awe inspiring, tax paying community member and citizen and we, as his community are devastated. 

But we honor Khalil's spirit by fighting against this wrong-headed injustice.

We are all fighting to get Khalil HOME--most importantly to his wife and two children who depend on him.  From HOME he can wage an effective legal battle against this injustice. 

But until we can get him home we need to help his family in their daily journey without Khalil and resource his legal needs.
