Jaylyn's Medical Fund

Unbeknownst to us, our beautiful baby girl Jaylyn True Martinez was born with not 1 but 3 rare birth defects. Neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia, bilateral perysylvian polymicrogyria, and schizencephaly. The latter 2 of the 3 are brain birth defects that have caused epilepsy and right side hemiparisis cerebral palsy. The prognosis is grim and she will need care for her short life span. Was it the train derailment and vinyl chloride exposure? Was it because I drank water contaminated with high levels of radium and PFC's for who knows how long prior to and throughout my pregnancy unbeknownst to me?!? Or just bad luck?!?. Despite having medical insurance and working our butts off, the medical costs have become out of our ability to afford them and keep up with rent, utilities, etc. Jaylyn's health is our number one priority and we are not eligible for government assistance with rent or utilities. We were in the process of applying for SSI for her so that she will have free medical, adaptive equipment, medications, but we were denied, and on going cost for appointments is putting us in danger of having our utilities shut off. We are NOT giving up and continue to exhaust every avenue we can! We are asking friends, family and even strangers to please just share this via social media and if you can make a contribution, great. If not, thoughts, prayers and please pass it on. We were fully prepared for a healthy baby as we were told for 9 months we would have. We were absolutely devastated about her diagnoses and are still learning what it will take to provide her care and keep her as healthy as possible to avoid complications and further medical expenses. Those that know me, know I never ask for help, but we are in a desperate situation and willing to swallow some pride to do what is best for our babygirl.
