“Grace Marie Greco
What started out as a simple gender ultrasound, turned our futures into something we never expected. Our sweet baby girl Grace was diagnosed with Spina Bifida- Myelomeningocele. This means that while developing, Grace's spine did not close completely. This is dangerous because her spinal nerves are exposed, meaning she may have difficulty walking or using the restroom on her own. This could also mean neurological deficits due to the spinal cord pulling on her brain.
After a week down at big Barnes/ Children's getting multiple ultrasounds, an MRI, Amniocentesis, and many consults, we have qualified for fetal surgery to repair her spinal defect while she is still cooking!
This fetal surgery will be done to give Grace a better chance for independence. While nothing is a guarantee, we believe that this option is the best for our sweet baby girl.

As you can imagine, medical bills will be piling on and the surgery is not cheap. Alexis will have to be on bedrest the duration of her pregnancy, as well as the time after Gracie is born. I want to be able to take as much financial burden off of them as possible so they can focus all of their time and energy on their sweet baby. Any and every dollar you are willing to donate will be much appreciated.
