FUNERAL COSTS FOR CHASE TAMEZ-BLACKMER

Donation protected
On Monday, April 21, 2014 at 4 months old, the journey for Chase began and we are not sure how this journey will be.  From birth Chase has had a condition called biliary atresia, which means his duct from his liver to his intestines are not present.   His intestines are partially free floating and are malrotation.  His spleen is in four parts so he basically has four functioning as one.  This is called polysplenia.  He also has situs inversus which means his whole abdomen is flipped backwards; everything that should be on the left is on the right.  His stomach is not centered, it is off to the side.  His heart is also backwards; although it does everything properly and pumps everything where it needs to go it takes extra routes.

Chase’s condition is usually diagnosed and fixed as early as two weeks old or as late as two months.  Unfortunately, Chase being 4 months old when he was diagnosed has caused significant irreversible damage.

This is only a tiny picture of what has been going on with this brave little Warrior.  Chase has been down a very long road already and has a very long way to go.  His Daddy, Dale Blackmer and Mommy, Maria Tamez-Blackmer have been right there by his side in Ann Arbor day and night.  Dale was brought home from Afganastan approximately 30 days ago for an emergency leave.  Unfortunately, he must go back and serve his Country at the end of May.

Chase has developed an infection.   Once they get the infection cleared up which will hopefully be in the next few weeks they will put him on the liver transplant list.  Which he needs as soon as possible.

We are reaching out to the community for donations to help with medical expenses, traveling expenses, and all the other unexpected costs that a situation of this magnitude will generate.

A special facebook page has been set up by his parents called Our Warriors Winning Battle  please take a minute to read further about this amazing child and see first hand his totally amazing parents and this unimaginable journey.

The family wants to thank each and everyone for all the prayers, words of encouragement  and support  that have already received on the facebook page -  Our Warriors Winning Battle.

Keep the prayers flowing.
