A Couples Broken Heart with Twins On Way
"WE'RE HAVING TWINS!" My brother exclaimed as he & his wife left the doctor's office for an ultrasound. It had been a little over 7 years of trying to conceive for my sister-in-law & brother. When the family received the news we were ecstatic and still are but just a few months later all of our lives changed dramatically. This gofundme is for my brother who is suffering from heart & kidney failure as well as his wife who is fighting gestational diabetes & complications while pregnant with their identical twin girls.

Health Summary - SISTER-IN-LAW & THE TWINS:
It was only a few weeks after we had heard the good news that she was pregnant that we also found out the twins were having complications and the pregnancy was now considered a "High Risk". The Twin Specialist said that from preliminary observations that it looks like the twins have a condition where, because the share a placenta, one or two of the blood vessels are under supplying one twin and over supplying the other with blood & fluids. This is highly detrimental to both babies if left unchecked. Therefore after multiple check-ups they decided to put my sister-in-law on permanent bedrest with weekly Dr. visits.
The conditions worsened and my sister-in-law had to go in for a procedure that would cotterize the blood vessel that is mis-supplying the twins. This surgery was a success so far but she must go for a weekly check up among other doctor's visits during the pregnancy. 
Health Summary - MY BROTHER's ORGANS:
My brother, Paul, has a kidney disorder in which cysts form in the kidneys, causing them to become enlarged. With a need for weekly dialysis treatment his heart grew weaker causing congestive heart failure and eventually the doctors inserted a defibrillator to help his heart. In early May 2014, the defibrillator went off sending him to a local hospital. As the conditions worsened, my brother was transferred to UCLA Cardiology and has been moved up on the transplant waiting list to receive a new heart & kidney.
In May 2014, he received an ablation procedure at UCLA with minor complications. They were able to map the outside of his heart and they did find some scarring, but did not find any good ablation spots on the outside of his heart. They also said his platelets are low, due to the dialysis and that lead to some bleeding around the heart. They drained the excess blood and are going to give him platelets & mapped out the rest of his heart a few days later.

THEIR NEEDS:
My brother is very weak due to heart & kidney failure and there is not much he can do before his defibrillator goes off shocking him to the ground. I've called 911 before when my brother's defibrillator went off; it's very scary. With it, he can't help with any normal house chores and his wife is on strict bed-rest too.
There is a chance that my brother may not go back home until he received a heart & kidney transplant, but we are still waiting what they say at UCLA.
I would love to raise funds that will help with:
MEDICAL BILLS!!! (twins ultrasounds, prescriptions, check ups, days in ICU, etc)
BABY SUPPLIES!!! (clothes, bottles, diapers, bath, etc)
Transportation/Parking (gas & parking at UCLA)
RENT & Utilities (they are both on medical leave & finances are being stretched thin)
House Keeping (help with animals & home during pregnancy, after their birth & my brothers illness)
Food & Groceries (food expenses while at UCLA)
My brother is a very awesome man who speaks 9 different languages including: Japanese, Portuguese Spanish, German, & Sign-language. I know he is going to be a great father too!
