Melissa's Stroke Expenses

My name is Melissa Hernandez.  I am mother, wife, daughter and sister.  I woke up on April 1st and suffered a stroke.  My husband called 911 and I was rushed to hospital, where I spent 7 days.  I don't have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes or any traditional risk factors for a stroke or any medical concern. They did find a hole (PFO) in my heart, but nothing else.  Neurologists believe this caused the stroke to reach my brain.  They would like for me have it closed, but I just visited a cardiologist and will be going to get a 2nd opinion in June.  Unfortunately, I was naive to believe that I wouldn't benefit from any disability coverage through my employer, therefore did not sign up for it.  Our household depends on both me and my husband's income.

I have been at home recovering ever since, while our household is accumulates medical bills and travel expenses while traveling to doctor's appointments, along with occupational, physical and speech therapy.  If I elect to have the hole closed in my heart that will incur additional medical bills.
