Shelly's Surgery

Dear friends and friend's of friends.
A dear friend of mine, Shelly Ian is in need of our help.
Shelly has been working and living in South Korea for almost 6 years now.
At the moment Shelly is in and out of hospital with severe pain due to cysts and a tumour on her ovaries. The location of these
growths is placing a huge amount of pressure on her intestines and bowels and causing an immense amount of pain.
After consultations and second opinions with doctors, Shelly was
told that she would need surgery. The procedure will be a laparoscopic one and will ensure the removal of all the cysts and the tumour, and will result in our friend feeling much better and being much healthier.
The main concern lies in the cost of the operation, and the hospital stay. The doctors have given a ballpark figure of 7 million Korean Won (7000 US dollars.). We realise that this is a very,very big number and will appreciate even the smallest of
donations.
Living in a foreign country and being ill really sucks. But being in a foreign country and being as sick, and in the amount of pain as Shelly is, is heartbreaking to see. As Shelly has not lived in the States for so long she has no medical insurance there and thus going home to get better is out of the question. She also has to go to class and teach every day in order to keep her job and medical insurance here in Korea. Something she is just having to grin and bare.
Shelly's surgery is scheduled for the 25th of June, at the Ajou University Hospital, in Suwon. I'm not sure what a reasonable amount to aim for is, but I that know Shelly will feel so blessed by whatever we manage to raise.
