Top Surgery

My name is Cole O’Connor Goodwin and I’m a 24 year old trans man. I had been closeted for almost 7 years, but I eventually decided it was time to show my true self. I came out a year ago to close family and friends, but have recently come out publicly. Telling my story was overwhelming and scary, but I’ve been shown nothing but love and encouragement from everyone I talk to. To start that journey of physically transitioning, I have started fundraising for my gender affirmation treatment. This involves testosterone hormone treatment (started in January 2022) in the UK and top surgery in Madrid. I wish I didn’t have to travel for healthcare, but the medical supports for transgender people are simply non-existent in Ireland. I began the process of my testosterone hormone therapy with a private UK clinic in April of 2021 and got my prescription and first dose on 26th of January 2022. All money raised through the fundraiser will go towards the treatments, consultations and any other costs such as travel and aftercare. Along with personal savings I’m building through my job, this fundraiser is the essential financial support I need to be who I really am.
