Bereavement trip

My brother is not one to ask for help-ever. He has been self supportive since he got his first place at age 16. Since Mark won't ask I'm asking on his behalf for help.
Our mom is currently in the hospital and we were told it is time to say our goodbyes. Mark truly feels he needs to go to Washington to say goodbye and get closure. Unfortunately life has been very tough for Mark and his family in recent months. Mark is fighting thymoma cancer (again) and his wife has recently become unemployed. Buying a last minute plane ticket is extremely expensive. The price right now is about $850 round trip.
Any amount that you can chip in would be greatly appreciated.
