We found sweet Grace abandoned and discarded in our front yard early this morning. She was scared and in an immense amount of pain, unable to move. Grace let me approach her although she could barely lift her head up to see what or who was around her. She was bloody and breathing heavily. Her paw pads were barely intact, ripped from her feet, and she had various wounds on and around her body.

Refusing to leave her side or writing her off to Animal Control, through the quick help of a friend and fellow animal lover, we were able to take her to an emergency vet. While we were carrying her the few yards to the car, she lost control of her bladder which revealed some blood.

The early diagnosis from the Vet was she had survived major trauma, maybe having been hit by a car. She was left in our yard to suffer and ultimately die. But Grace is a fighter and we will not give up on her. She is currently being treated at a Brooklyn Veterinary hospital, and receiving the best care. She has an IV as she was extremely dehydrated, and was given pain medication and also has a catheter. Luckily, Grace's initial X-rays did not show any broken bones and she had no internal abnormalities that they could tell of yet. She was able to take a few steps, but was too weak to go further. Her blood-work was slightly concerning. Her kidney and liver levels are elevated. However, the Vet believes that could be due to the trauma she endured itself. We'll know more tomorrow when more results come back, and when her kidneys and liver are being re-tested. The next 24 hours will be incredibly telling and all of your prayers and thoughts would be so very much appreciated.

If you are able to assist with some of her medical bills, I would be forever grateful. As of right now they're about $2,300 and I've put $1,800 down. If through the love of you all, we raise more money and surpass this goal, I will donate all of the additional proceeds to animal shelters and/or other furbabies in need. I promise you that.

Let's make right what went so wrong for this sweet face. Let's give her the loving life that she so deserves. Please help sweet Grace.
