Upcoming Surgery and Medical Bills

Hi. I’m Kim, Alex’s Mom. I created this platform to raise money to help my son pay medical bills that he will incur within a few weeks. Alex was diagnosed with Gastroparesis about 8 years ago. If you don’t know, Gastroparesis is a condition that affects the stomach muscles and prevents proper stomach emptying. Alex can only eat easily digestible foods. In late February, his body started rejecting all foods. Alex tried several different “easily digestible foods” and protein shakes several times, but nothing worked. He has not had any food for over two months and has lost over 70lbs since late February. We were finally able to get him into a special Gastroparesis Clinic last week and he is scheduled for several procedures in a few weeks, including a Pyloric Dilation and placement of a feeding tube, which will be done at Tampa General Hospital. Alex has continued to work through extreme pain and sickness so he won’t lose his insurance, which is through his employer. However, he has a large deductible and also has to pay a percentage of each medical bill. We don’t know what the total cost would be, but it will be in the thousands. Any donation would be appreciated so he can pay for his medical procedures.
