Matt's ACL Therapy and Surgery
Donation protected
It was an innocent soccer scrimmage. Matt was bonding with our oldest child, Lucy, and cheering on all the other kids at practice. It felt good getting out and playing soccer again after so long... he was finally able to start sharing soccer with our children in a very real way. The flow was happening, the kids were working hard. Matt went up to block the ball... and heard what sounded like a deck of cards shuffling as he landed.
At the examination of the MRI, the doctor informed my husband that he had completely severed his ACL and partially tore his MCL (meniscus). He also dented his bones (did you know that was a thing? We had no clue...).
We are fortunate enough to have his income covered 60%, and that is untaxed. Our insurance is covering some of the costs of therapy and surgery, but not all. If we do not pay what insurance does not cover, the rehabilitation and occupational therapy can be cut off.
Matt is a good man and a hard worker. This whole ordeal has been very stressful for him... he is a provider, and he can't provide right now. Money was already tight. Anything you or anyone you know can contribute will be greatly appreciated.
