My name is Sydni Falconer. I am currently a rising sophomore at Clark Atlanta University from Queens, New York. I major in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Public Relations. I have been selected as an official contestant for the Miss United Negro College Fund Scholarship Pageant. The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) is the nation's largest and most effective minority education organization since 1944.
I am a Dean's List Scholar. I am a representative for the United Negro College Fund through the 2013-2014 Public Service Announcement commercial. I am also a Student Ambassador for the Clark Atlanta University Admissions Office.
By holding the title of Miss UNCF, I would be given the platform to encourage others to S.O.S. (Save Our Scholars). My objective is to work with inner city schools to help adolescent students enjoy receiving an education. I want to be more involved with school administrators to create more effective and engaging classroom lessons. With the title, I will be able to influence a great number of students. If crowned, I will be granted a scholarship towards my education. Also, I will be able to compete for the National Miss UNCF title. The deadline for the fundraiser is August 26th at 3pm.
