Hello,
I am an Advisor for Explorer Post 370, supported by the Austin Fire Department. I am seeking support to help me take a education trip to the 9/11 Memorial. I would like to attend this trip to help share education on the Fire service and the ultimate sacrifice example in hopes to encourage our Explorers one day serve others. I am working to raise the money myself and would appreciate anything you can give. Our trip is scheduled for the summer of 2020. Thank you.

Mission:
To develop and deliver engaging, research based academic, character, leadership and career focused programs aligned to state and national standards that guide and enable all students to achieve their full potential.
To provide positive and meaningful real-world career experiences and leadership development opportunities for all teenagers and young adults in their chosen field of interest.

Explorer Post 370 is a joint effort between Austin Fire Department and the Boy Scouts of America's Learning for Life Program. We are listed under the Lone Star District and a part of the Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. The national Explorer Post program through learning for life was established in 1988, and is designed to encourage youth aged 14-20 to explore careers in various ...fields.
Explorer Post The Austin Fire Department is the sponsoring organization for Explorer Post 370. The primary purpose of the Explorer Post is to introduce interested young adults to the Austin Fire Department and other related emergency services. The Explorer Post is a co-ed program for youth 14-20 years old chartered by the AFD through the Boy Scouts of America. Post 370 provides a regular schedule of programs, meetings, field trips, and other related projects.
Post 370 provides youth of Austin the opportunity to explore a career in the Fire Services. In addition to career exploration, the Explorer Post is designed to provide a link between the academic and career worlds, and provides participants with a wide variety of real-world skills. These include character development, self confidence, leadership skills, and social development.
The post provides youth the opportunity to network among future peers in the working world, provides access to volunteer community service, and encourages group collaboration and teamwork.
We actively teach life skills to include but not limited to drug awareness and prevention, career planning, resource allocation, and networking skills.
