911 Dispatcher in need of backup!

Donation protected
Whenever you pick up the phone to report an emergency  you're greeted by someone on the other end of the phone, a 9-1-1 dispatcher. Dispatchers are the very front line of emergency response. Often times dispatchers are handed extremely chaotic situations requiring split-second decisions that ultimately come down to life and death.

This thankless job requires these men and woman to work crummy hours, resulting in missed holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and other important dates because 9-1-1 is a 24/7/365 operation.

Our good friend, Lisa Ann Hall, has been a dispatcher with the Klamath Emergency Communications District for 33 years!!!

She started her career in public safety early in Dorris, California then moved up to the Klamath Falls Police Department in 1984.  In 1989, when 9-1-1 came online, Lisa was one of the founding dispatchers that went to work for Klamath County 9-1-1 where she still works today.

Approximately six months ago, Lisa started experiencing increasingly painful back-pain issues. She juggled her work schedule and trips to  the chiropractor thinking it was something to do with the amount of time she spent sitting at the dispatch console.  She made the decision to retire in December of this year and do a little traveling.

A few months later her world was turned upside down when she went to the doctor for stomach issues and was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. The cancer started in her breasts and has rapidly spread to her lymph nodes, liver, and bones.

Lisa has devoted her life to public safety and just at the point of finally cashing in her chips to enjoy the benefit of her life-long career, she has been forced to re-evaluate her goals and deal with this unfair hand she was dealt.

Showing her strength as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, Lisa is taking on the ultimate task, battling cancer head-on. She is currently seeking chemotherapy treatment, however,
struggling with her insurance to get things covered.
The financial toll this has taken on her has been tremendous and she (in true Lisa fashion) is struggling very much with asking others for help. Those of us close to her are trying our best to anticipate her needs and help her through this nightmare.  What drives us is knowing that if the situation was reversed she would be the first one there to help and give you the shirt off her back--no questions asked.

Lisa knows she is facing the biggest challenge of her life.  We kindly ask her friends to help lessen Lisa’s financial burden by donating whatever you can spare to help her get through this with a little less stress, if at all possible.

Thank you everyone for reading this and for any and all
help. Even if it’s just in the form of positive thoughts
and prayers sent out into the World. Everything is very,
very much appreciated.
