91 Brazilian Kids In Need of Shoes

THANK YOU - WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOAL - NO MORE DONATIONS NEEDED. WE WILL POST PHOTOS OF HAPPY KIDS SOON. IF YOU WERE NOT ABLE TO DONATE THIS TIME – NO WORRIES – NEXT YEAR WE HOPE TO HAVE ANOTHER CAMPAIGN FOR MORE CHILDREN IN NEED OF SHOES.  

We are two 13-year old cousins hoping to make a difference in this world. We love the outdoors, especially hiking. We want other kids to be able to hike by providing shoes for them. We call our charity Soles in Need. Natalya lives in Brazil and has found a crèche (daycare) for kids whose parents are too poor to provide for them.  The Government gives a small amount and donations make up the rest to keep the crèche operational. But there are 91 three and four year old kids that walk there and back and play all day either shoe-less or in flip-flops. Their parents DO NOT have the money to provide footwear. We can buy $12 shoes plus $2 worth of socks for each child. Our plan is to deliver these on the 29th of November wrapped in a box with american candies and a drawing of Jesus Christ. Our parents will pay for the wrapping paper, candies and photos. But we need $1,200 for 91 shoes (91x$12=$1,092) and about $100 dollars worth of socks.
