Kylie's Stroke Recovery

I am writing this letter to ask for assistance.
On 23rd September 2011 my wife Kylie suffered a stroke whilst giving birth to our 4th child, Evan.
Kylie's stroke left her with left side neglect, inability to walk unassisted or without walking aids to support her, she has no use of her left arm from her shoulder to her fingers and requires 24 hour care just to get through the day to day activities and tasks that you and I are able to do without even thinking.
Every ten minutes in Australia someone suffers a stroke. It's our second biggest killer and has left nearly half a million survivors living with a crippling disability. Dispite dramatic medical advances in other fields, there is only so much that can be done for a stroke patient.
So in saying all of this, why should you help my wife?
Kylie has been lucky enough to have been accepted for treatment at the Institute of Neurological Recovery in the United States of America. This is very exciting news for our family, however the only clinics they have are in Los Angeles and Florida.
We need to raise enough money to cover the costs associated with the treatment but also the the airfares and accommodation for 3 weeks for Kylie and I whilst the treatment is performed (see the summary of costs below).
As you can imagine, caring for 4 children as well as Kylie has not allowed me to continue to work full time and funds are very limited, this is why we find ourselves asking for donations from our family, friends and strangers.
