Sierra Leone Half Marathon

Hi friends and family!
On May 25th I will be running the annual Sierra Leone Marathon (just the half!) on behalf of two outstanding organizations, both near and dear to my heart: Welbodi Partnership and Global Fashpack.
Welbodi Partnership, where I have worked for the past 11 months, is a small charity working closely with local partners to improve the quality of care delivered at two of the four tertiary government hospitals in Freetown: Ola During Children's Hospital and Princess Christian Maternity Hospital. We are involved in infrastructural development, capacity building/staff training, and quality improvement projects. Welbodi operates on three major pillars: local ownership, long-term development, and innovation. To learn more about what we do, see our website and blog:

The Freetown Fashpack Runners are a team of 40 of Freetown's best local long and middle distance runners who are supported each year by Global Fashpack to run the Sierra Leone Marathon. The team has competed in the past two marathons and have achieved outstanding results on both occasions, blitzing the field of internationals and gaining places in all races. I will split my proceeds between these two fantastic organizations. Donations over $45 will receive a Fashpack bag or shirt (your choice)! Embarassing pictures of my attempts to run this implausibly hot and humid race to follow.
