Following My Heart Back to Haiti

Hi my Name is Claire. I am orignially from Caldwell, Idaho, but i have lived in San Antonio, Texas for the last four years. In the fall I will be moving to Spokane, Washington to study Intercultural Ministries at Moody Bible Institute. I cant wait to see how God uses this school to impact the rest of my life. Ever since I was really little I knew I wanted to be missionary, and I knew that I was willing to go wherever God would take me. I didnt know what my future would look like, but I had to trust that God had a perfect plan.

This last spring I went to Haiti to serve in a Preschool run by Maranatha Childrens Ministries. It was an incredibie experience and it opened my eyes to things that i had previously been so blind to. I was originally supposed to stay for only two weeks, but I ended up staying for four. I had completely fallen in love with the country and its people. Throughout that whole journey God taught me so much! The biggest thing he taught me was to fully trust him with every aspect of my life. Before I left to Haiti I was able to lay everything down before him. I put my future in his hands. Through that I was able to see more and more of Gods unconditional love for me. It was sad to say Goodbye to Haiti at that time, but knowing that i had the opportunity to come back soon excited me. 

Every summer Maranatha Childrens Ministries puts on a six week English camp. Its a bible based camp for children ages 4-14 years. They learn a variety of things including bible stories and verses. They are fed two meals a day with fresh water. At the end of each camp the children get a backpack full of supplies, a camp t-shirt, and a bible. This is an amazing opportunity for me to speak truth and to show Christ's love. As soon as I learned about this opportunity, I knew that God was calling me to come back for the summer. I will be staying for almost two months to help prepare for English camp and then serve in it. I am so excited to go back to Haiti, and see how God uses and works through me this summer. 

I need to raise approximately 3000 dollars. This amount will cover my airfare/baggage, my daily housing fee in Haiti, food, and supplies(bug spray, sunscreen, clothing, malaria medication ect.). Any donations that excede my goal will go directly to the Maranatha Childrens Ministries. Above all else your prayers would mean the world to me as I go on this trip. I will be in a place where spiritual darkness and oppression exsits all around. I will see hardships that I wont be able to help, and I will face fears that I never thought I could. I want God to stretch me, and use me in ways I never thought I could be used. Your prayers and support have a huge impact as i follow God's call in my life back to Haiti.
