Help for Jen

Jennifer was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the young age of 6.  As many of us know, Diabetes wears down the body through time and affects major organs - the eyes being one of them.  Jenn began presenting problems with her right eye a few years ago and lost complete vision and became legally blind in March of 2016.   This year she underwent a procedure to relieve debilitating pain from her right eye due to nerve damage from a large mass behind the eye ball.  After the procedure her eye began to reduce in size and the Dr. told her the next and only step was to undergo surgery for removal of her eye.  She will undergo an enucleation of her right eye this coming May.  Enucleation is the complete removal of the Eye Ball and her insurance does NOT cover the prosthetic eye because it’s not “medically necessary”. The prosthetic eye must be our out of pocket and can not be placed in the same surgery.  Once the prosthesis is purchased, she has to wait four months for her eye socket to heal from the initial surgery before undergoing another.  She will be out of work for approximately 6 months and wont be able to drive.  Our goal with this campaign is to help buy Jenn the best eye available, and take the stress of her not working to provide for her children.  Jennifer is one of the most self-less people I know.  She has endured the trials of losing both her parents, her uncle, her grandfather (who raised her) and now her eye sight.  She is an exceptional single mother to her two children who are her World and she does everything she can to always put them first.  If you Jenn you know  she puts everyone first - she’s always there to provide help, Love, a listening ear, and Service to those around her.  Please help us raise the funds so that she can - this time, take care of herself without the worry of what’s to come.
