Please Help Hannah!!

Hannah Collett is one special little 6 year old girl who is loved by everyone she meets! Unfortunately, Hannah is fighting for her life. She contracted Escherichia coli (E. coli) and is now suffering from Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). This is a condition that results from the abnormal premature destruction of red blood cells. The damaged red blood cells start to clog the filtering system in the kidneys, which may eventually cause the life-threatening kidney failure associate with HUS. She has been admitted to the ICU at Children's at Egelston.

Hannah and her family need all the thoughts and prayers now more than ever! Hannah's mother, Melissa Harlacher, is a RN with Amedisys Home Health and Hospice Care. Back in the day, she worked at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital as an ER Tech while attending KSU's nursing program. She is also 12 weeks pregnant! Hannah's step-dad, David Harlacher, is a Cherokee County Sheriff's Officer. Melissa and David just recently got married and moved into a new home when Hannah suddenly fell ill. As a parent, I can't even imagine the heartache Melissa and David are going through watching this precious child fight for her life.

Melissa and David have dedicated their lives to helping others through nursing and public safety. It is our duty as friends and fellow public safety workers to come together and help them during this desperate time of need.
