Mary Brueggeman grew up in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, and began working at the Reedsburg Hospital when she was sixteen years old. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Viterbo College and, upon graduation, was chosen to help set up a Trauma Unit at Gunderson in La Crosse. For over forty years, Mary has continued to dedicate her life to clinical and academic advancements in the nursing field. She obtained her master's degree and DNP in nursing from UW-Madison. Presently, she is on staff as a Professor of Nursing at Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin.

At the end of 2013, Mary was suddenly diagnosed with colon cancer. This year, she is facing another hurdle after having just been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
In her time of need, we are reaching out to Mary's many friends and colleagues to help provide financial and loving support. Mary is a devoted single mother of three wonderful children, and through this fundraiser, we hope to reduce the stress and anxiety caused by financial stress in order for her to fully focus on her recovery.
