India's Oxygen Crisis

As many of you are aware, COVID's second wave in India, particularly Delhi, is devastating. Everyone knows someone close to them who has been stricken. It has overwhelmed the health infrastructure and pushed the medical oxygen supply chain beyond its limits. This is a humanitarian crisis unlike anything India has seen before, and Delhi needs your help. Beds are filling with patients in acute respiratory distress.
According to a recent article in the Financial Times, Dr. Mathew Varghese, one of St. Stephen's Hospital's senior doctors said, "There's no oxygen. The system is broken down and we're losing patients. We don't know what to do. We're used to saving lives and we're watching people die."
The St. Stephen's Hospital in New Delhi desperately needs piped oxygen, ventilators, high-flow nasal oxygen machines, Bipap machines, PPE kits, NRBM masks, N95 masks, sanitizers and gloves.
Your generous donation in any amount will go towards supporting 325 COVID patients ($500/day) to receive piped oxygen ($15,000/month).
The St. Stephen's Hospital in Delhi is a 135-year old specialty hospital located in the Northern part of Delhi. It is a 595-bedded hospital with 13 operation theatres and several intensive care units. In 2020, the Hospital developed a 200-bed isolation facility for COVID patients. Now with the surge, the Hospital has had to increase this capacity to 304. As a welfare Hospital, the charges are affordable for patients, however, the Hospital is facing difficulties in procuring supplies for patients, particularly oxygen.
