John & Beth Anne Youngblood Medical-Related Funds

Have you ever seen a real life story of love at first sight? Beth Anne and John have lived that story since the day they met through a set up by a mutual friend. In a whirlwind romance spanning less than a year, these two met in 2015 and married in 2016. They welcomed their sweet daughter, Emerson, right around their second anniversary in 2018. Throughout this beautiful romance, Beth Anne and John were dealing with something that most couples and families thankfully never have to think about: John's serious and life-threatening heart condition.

John was born with HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome) a congenital heart defect.  His left ventricle was severely underdeveloped from birth.  He has been struggling for the past year and half with fluid retention and other medical issues that have started compounding and have caused a lot of stress on his heart muscle and body.

On January 31st, they found out that John's heart muscle is not pumping well, and his pressure levels are very high. This is both dangerous and a sign of heart failure.  They were told that he is very sick, and there is only one option at this time due to his complex medical history and condition: a double transplant of a heart and liver at the same time.  For now, he is being kept at Emory until they hear from one of two transplant teams in Philadelphia and at Vanderbilt to see if either will take him for their transplant programs.

Due to John's condition, he has been unable to work for over 6 months and the medical bills aren't going away any time soon.  Being the wonderful wife and mother she is, Beth Anne is almost out of PTO time and will soon move into an unpaid status when traveling to support and be with John.

Between all of the traveling back and forth between the hospital and home, and soon between a transplant center and their home in Georgia, the medical and travel related expenses, as well as everyday bills, are already hard to cover.

Today, I am asking you to help support Beth Anne and John as they not only begin their long and likely arduous transplant journey, but also as they continue their love story.  Anything you can do to help this dear family along the path is welcome and appreciated.
