What if you could significantly improve a child’s physical and mental health?
Would you support a child’s developing powers of observation, creativity and sense of wonder?
Is it important to help a child de-stress therefore lowering aggressive behavior?
These are just some of the benefits documented when children spend time in nature. Childhood today looks very different than it looked 30 years ago and our children are spending more time indoors at school, at home, watching TV, playing video games etc. Children need time outside running, playing, climbing trees and learning about the environment they are here to inherit.
Unfortunately, this is much easier said than done for many of the families in our community. Lack of funds, transportation, support and grueling work schedules can make something as simple as a hike nearly impossible.
We would like to take the 8th grade class on a 3 day camping trip to beautiful Big Bear before sending them off to begin their high school years. We know how important this is and are working diligently to make it happen but we can’t do it alone. The cost of transporting, feeding and supervising 30 8th graders is more than our school can handle at this time.
Please consider donating any amount to help us make this a reality for our kids. They deserve to experience nature and discover themselves in a new way.
