Natasha's surgery

Donation protected

Hey folks, my roommate's dog is in bad shape. She got hurt last night and is in urgent need of surgery. Her hind leg is messed up, something is wrong with a disk in her spine and she's currently twisted up and her hind leg is not fully functional.

Natasha is 9, and not yet old for her breed. She is extremely healthy but now is in danger of becoming paralyzed. Time is of the essence. She has a serious case of IVDD in which a disk is forcibly striking her spinal cord.

Within the past 12 hours she has gone from being able to stand with some wobbling on one rear leg to not being able to stand at all. She is in danger of becoming paralyzed. According to the specialist, and all of the research agrees, she has a 95% chance of a full recovery with a surgery that costs about $6,500.

Without the surgery, her chances of recovery are much lower than another dog with IVDD because of the rate that she is deteriorating. At this time she still has feeling in her nerves. Once she loses feeling in her nerves, the surgery will no longer be an option. Her owner is working to do what she can to retain this brain nerve connection until she can raise the money. There is not much time and Natasha is progressing quickly. She is fully conscious, wide awake and appears extremely frightened.

Thanks in advance for any donations and if you can spread the word that would be great.
