James Sims' Medical Expenses

Donation protected
On Mar 2nd, 2013, my Dad and I built a fence together. the whole time, he told me that his chest hurt. he thought he had a chest cold. on Mar 3rd, pain increased. On Mar 4th, he went to the doctor and was told that his gall bladder needed to come out immediately. while doing cardiac clearance for the surgery, the tech found an anomaly. dad was sent for a heart cath and it was determined that he only had 12% EF (ejection factor -- normal is 60 - 80%). the medical staff attempted many efforts prior to placing an LVAD on July 8th, 2013 (when Dad's EF dropped to 4% and no other effort would be suitable).

the LVAD has been a God-send in that Dad has returned to a much greater level of health. however, the driveline exit site is a consistently open wound and has held pseudomonas infection since Oct of 2013. to begin, the iv antibiotics were not much of a financial burden, but in March 2014, we had to switch to a stronger antibiotic (meropenem) and the cost increased. however, during that admit (where they changed the antibiotic)
, Dad was listed for heart transplant. the iv antibiotics will continue until a donor match is made and so will the expense associated with it. after transplant, anti-rejection meds will become another expense.
we do not like to ask for help but we have come to a point where we have to. thank you in advance for whatever you can give. i assure you that each and every cent will be used for Dad's meds.
Dad has a dream to watch all 4 of his grandchildren grow up and you can be part of that dream.
